Do I open a Upromise account in my name or my child's name?

Open your Upromise account in your name and then add the person you're saving for in the Profile section of your Upromise account. Click on the link to “Add a Student Beneficiary.”

What does "registered credit card" or "a card you've registered with Upromise" mean?

A "registered credit card" or "a card you've registered with Upromise" both refer to the same thing: any credit or debit card (with a Visa/MasterCard logo) that you own and have registered with your Upromise account.

As a Upromise member, you can register a card anytime.

Can I use a debit card I’ve registered with my Upromise account and earn cash back from partners?

Yes, you can. There are three things you’ll need to do:

  1. Use a debit card with the Visa/MasterCard logo on it.
  2. Always use your debit card as a credit card when making a purchase.
  3. When given the option of entering your pin, or signing for the purchase, sign for the purchase. This lets us track your purchase as a credit card purchase, so we can give you your cash back.

How often will I receive promotions from Upromise partners?

You’ll receive promotions from Upromise and Upromise partners on a periodic basis unless you change your communication preferences in the profile section of your Upromise account.
